Pane Tasks — Privacy Policy

Effective October 24, 2026

Pane Tasks ("Pane") is developed by Josh von Gersdorff. This policy explains how the app handles your information. In short: I do not collect any data about you.

Your tasks

Your tasks, buckets, labels, checklists, notes and settings are stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, Pane syncs them between your devices using Apple's CloudKit, in your own private iCloud database. That data is governed by Apple's privacy policy and is not accessible to me.

Location

If you add a place reminder to a task, Pane asks for permission to use your location so it can notify you when you arrive at or leave that place. Location monitoring happens on your device. The place you choose (name, address and coordinates) is saved with the task and synced only through your private iCloud. Searching for a place uses Apple Maps; those searches are handled by Apple under its privacy policy. Your location is never sent to me.

Notifications

Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. Pane does not use a notification server.

No analytics, ads or tracking

Pane contains no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking code, has no accounts, and does not sell or share any data.

Children

Pane does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Deleting your data

Delete tasks in the app, or delete the app. To remove synced data, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage on your device.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
